Self help programs are really a dime a dozen these days. Everyone seems to have on. I have bought, read, heard or tried most of them. I’m something of a self help nut. Do self help programs work? Yes but you have to pick the right programs. I’m a fan of the oldies like Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill, and The Strangest Secret by Earl Nightingale. I swear by Pscho Cybernetics by Dr. Maxwell Maltz, and the newst Psycho Cybernetics book authored by Dan Kennedy which was updated from Dr. Maltz’s original. I also have the program on CD. I’ve bought extra copies of the book to give away to friends and relatives. It’s that good.
The main point of most self help books, which had its origination with Earl Nightingale, is that you become what you think about. Think about that. You become your dominate thought. If you take the time throughout your day to stop and listen to your own thoughts you may be shocked to find that you are giving yourself negative self talk. You may say things like “I’m fat. I’m not happy. I’m ugly. I’m too dumb.”
Yes, those inner thoughts rage in all of us from time to time and we find solace in the fact that others can’t hear those thoughts. We may try to appear confident on the surface while screaming how inferior we are on the inside.
If we become what we think about than others can read your thoughts. They can see what you think of yourself by the way you look, by your financial situation and by your relationships. I think that once you realize this then you will deman change. You will demand that the self sabotage changes. It’s amazing how quickly this can happen. You just have to visualize a different you and a different outcome. You have to desire change and think about what you want all of the time. In up coming blog posts I will tell you more about me and about what you need to do to change your life for the better.
We are not only reporting on programs, but we are going to report upon how you are programmed.
Feel free to engage me, disagree or just tell me that my spelling and grammer stinks. I type quickly and often when thoughts hit me. I’m not trying to win a Spelling B or a journalism prize. I’m trying to change my life and yours for the better.
